Lisa McBride, B.Sc., D.M.D.

Dr. Lisa completed her B.Sc. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at Bishop’s University. Throughout her 3 years in Lennoxville, while maintaining her grades to keep her entrance scholarship, she still found time to work hard on the other love in her life, the playing field. She was co-captain of the lady Gaiter Varsity Rugby team during her time at Bishop’s and was awarded Quebec Team All Star in her final year.

Upon returning to Montreal, and for the next 4 years, Dr. McBride received her dental training at McGill University. During that time she was an active member of the Faculty’s Student Council, acting as social representative for all four years. In her final year, along with Dr. Boroff, they won both the Regional and National CDA/DENTSPLY Student Table Competition for their poster presentation: “Never underestimate the power of a single cell. An in-depth look at amoebae in Dental Unit Waterlines”.

At graduation Dr. McBride earned a number of prizes, including the Canadian Dental Association President’s Award for outstanding qualities of leadership, scholarship, character and humanity during dental studies. Dr. Lisa then went on to complete a one year Multidisciplinary Residency Program at the Royal Victoria Hospital where she gained invaluable experience in all aspects of dentistry. She spent 5 years in private practice in the West Island and when time permitted, worked up in James Bay along with Dr. Boroff as replacement dentists for the Cree Health Board.

Since opening the Westdent clinic in 2008, Dr. Lisa presently works 3 days a week alongside Dr. Boroff and is an active member of the Canadian Dental Association, The Order of Quebec Dentists, and has recently joined a Spear study club where she will be attending some of their world renowned seminars in Scottsdale, Arizona. When not with patients, Dr. Lisa is with their 2 boys at the hockey rink or trying to find time for the other things she loves such as running, reading, skiing and any other activity that gets she and the family outside and into the fresh air.

Wade Boroff, D.M.D.

Dr. Wade Boroff completed his degree at Concordia University in Cell and Molecular Biology while achieving high honours. Throughout his time in his undergraduate program, he participated as a first aid responder with St Johns Ambulance. This was the perfect environment to learn about helping people in stressful situations.

Dr. Boroff received his dental degree from McGill University. In the time of his studies, he and his wife Dr. McBride participated in the prestigious annual Canadian Dental Association Student table clinic competition. As a team they placed first at McGill and then won the national event across Canada. Also during that time, Dr. Boroff was an active member of the faculty’s student council, acting as vice-president in his final year.

Dr. Boroff received further training at the Queen Elizabeth Health Complex as the chief dental resident. He focused on pediatric, trauma, and esthetic dentistry. Dr. Boroff then associated in a practice heavily focused on prosthetics where he gained invaluable experience with implant dentistry for almost 10 years.

He and his wife have also spent time in the James Bay Area working with the Cree community. Again, continuing to provide the highest quality of dental care and educating their patients on Oral Health.

Dr Wade Boroff is an active member of the Mount Royal Dental Society, the Quebec Dental Association, the Order of Quebec Dentists and the Canadian Dental Association. He continues to attend numerous continuing education seminars where he hones his skills thereby providing quality dental care to all his patients.

His primary goal is to make sure each patient understands exactly the recommended procedure prior to starting any treatment. Dr. Boroff had orthodontic work for many years and knows exactly how the patients feel in his chair. His objective is to try and make the experience as positive as possible. He looks forward to welcoming new people into the Westdent family practice.
